One stunning spring day we joined the hordes at Pinkham Notch.
Aleksa started out the most stylishly dressed on the hill,
but gradually upgraded her equipment from cathedral tights and microspikes ...
... to crampons and axe.
It wouldn't be the first time in the mountains with me that Aleksa might not seem amused in the moment...
but look deeply enough ...
and you'll see she's feeling safe and happy.
Our efforts brought us to treeline on the Lion's Head trail
where (despite the norms for Mount Washington weather) ...
... lunch awaited.
We made that our highpoint.
The next day we had great cross-country skiing on the last day of the season at Bretton Woods resort.
