On 1 August 2007,
after a bit of practice cragging at "Back of the Lake" by Lake Louise,
my mother and I made a trip up the SE ridge (Cl.3, shown here up the centre of the image -- credit: Dave Stephens?) of Mt Temple.
An early start
brought us to Larch Valley, where we climbed to Sentinel Pass and turned right.
We were inspired by a couple (72 and 76 years old) who sped by, and were also sharing in the celebration of the Swiss national day.
Consolation Lakes, where we had swum a few days earlier.
Two years ago, Robert and I had planned to climb Mt Temple as our last scramble together that summer. The access was closed, so we had fun on Mt Niblock instead. Now Robert will never stand with us on other peaks.
My mom is pretty cool. (Obviously).
Back at camp that evening, we had this view of our high point.
